EXPLORATION - What has gone before...
                      Project Gemini

Both Projects Mercury and Gemini took place at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station launch complex 14. In December 2020 the name was changed to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. As the Air Force Station it was under control by the U.S. Strategic Command , USAF 45th Space Wing , USAF Space Command .

The facility is now under control of the United States Space Force (USSF) and remains a component of the Strategic Command. The 45th Space Wing became Space Launch Delta 45 of Patrick Space Force Base. The facility also homes the Eastern Range for other Department of Defense operations.
The left image is Gemini IV about to be launched from Pad 19.  That photo shows the "erector" that protected the launch craft and was lowered before launch.
